Texas Turns 50 and You’re Invited

Libertarians in Texas affiliated with the Libertarian Party a half-century ago, so Texas Gold is throwing a 50th Birthday Party for the Libertarian Party of Texas in our state’s capital and party’s headquarters in Austin TX, on its actual Golden Anniversary: Friday, January 21, 2022.

“The Libertarian Party of Texas was founded on January 21, 1972, and is the state’s third-largest political party. The party aims to promote Libertarian policies and support Libertarian candidates throughout the state.”

“In 1971, Texas was one of the 13 original founding state parties at the first LP convention in Denver, Colorado.”

The Libertarian Party of Texas was formed on April 9, 1972 at the home of its first chair, Keith R. Jones, and held its first convention on July 1, 1972.

“The Texas LP is off to a flying start, with approximately 30 members.”
